Step 09

Final Offer and FAA Onboarding

Once required pre-employment steps are satisfied, the candidate can receive final reporting instructions. The exact process varies, so the HR specialist and official onboarding communications are the controlling sources.

9.1 Final Offer and Reporting Date

Confirm position title, duty location, reporting date, pay information and any instructions for your first day. Ask HR about discrepancies before reporting rather than assuming they will correct themselves automatically.

9.2 Entrance on Duty System (EODS) and Forms

EODS access note: New hires should use only the access instructions and credentials provided through FAA onboarding communications. The FAA Onboarding Checklist explains that EODS access information is sent to the selectee; questions about offer details, EODS access, background processing, or the report-to-duty date should be directed to the assigned HR specialist [16].

FAA uses onboarding processes that can include EODS and other forms. Complete required forms by the stated deadlines and bring any identification or documents specified in the instructions.

9.3 First-Day Preparation

  1. Know where and when to report.
  2. Bring required identity/employment documents.
  3. Keep HR and supervisor contact information available.
  4. Expect administrative processing, orientation, security/access steps and role-specific instructions.
  5. Do not assume training schedules are identical across occupations.
